Marion
J. Piper Memorial Scholarship
Each year North Dakota
Professional Communicators awards the Marion J. Piper Scholarship
(formerly the Marion Piper Sullivan Memorial Scholarship)
to a local college student. The $500 scholarship is a tribute
to Marion Piper Sullivan, a former NDPC member and noted North Dakota writer,
editor and historian. She died of cancer in 1969.
The NDPC Scholarship
Committee awards the scholarship each spring. Selection of the
scholarship recipient is based on the applicant’s essay (60 percent),
career plans (20 percent) and extracurricular activities relating
to communications (20 percent).
The application deadline
is March 31, 2010. Submit completed application, essay and
copy of transcript to Pamela Knudson, NDPC President, 2472 23rd St. S., Grand Forks, ND 58201.
