Fish
Philosophy
No, it's not how to catch the biggest walleye or how to relieve
stress by staring at an aquarium. Fish Philosophy is an idea of
how to incorporate four simple concepts into your work and life,
said Becky Koch.
With a videotape of the fishmongers at the Pike Place Market in
Seattle, Koch introduced the ideas then asked NFPW members to
pair up to think about how they could:
- Play
- Be there
- Choose your attitude
- Make their day
Koch said, "Too often we get so busy that we don't sit back
to reflect on some of the things that can really make a difference
to our customers and co-workers things like playing, choosing
your attitude, being there and making their day.
"It's easy to say, 'I'm just one person; I can't make a
difference by myself,'" Koch said. "Yet if each one
of us catches the energy and releases the potential, our workplaces
and our lives can exude Fish Philosophy."
