NDPC 2023 Communications Contest WinnersNorth Dakota Professional Communicators announced the winners of the 2023 NDPC communications contest on May 18 during the organization’s annual meeting and virtual awards ceremony. First-place entries in all categories advance to the national competition, the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest. Winners in that competition will be honored at the NFPW Communications Conference on June 23 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Roxane Salonen, Fargo, N.D., took first place in the sweepstakes competition, Amanda Kosior, Grand Forks, N.D., took second; and Tracy Frank received third. Sweepstakes winners are determined by a weighted point system based on place (first, second, third or honorable mention) and the number of entries in each category. The more entries in a category, the higher number of points awarded to those placing in the category. Tracy Frank, West Fargo, N.D., received the Communicator of Achievement award for her more than 20-year career that includes her current role as a Senior Multimedia Storyteller at Bell Bank in Fargo, as well as previous experience as a print and broadcast news journalist.
