See the practice of brand symbols through the iconography of the Dark Knight. Jason Jacobson, senior creative strategist at Fargo-based agency, H2M, walks through what a brand truly means and provides practical examples of how his firm approached three brand refreshes in 2020. The presentation also includes advice on the right time to make a change and other ways to reinforce a brand without changing its symbols.
About the Speaker
Fargo-native Jason Jacobson began working as a creative copywriter in 2008 with an insatiable appetite for understanding and articulating authentic brands. Over the years, he’s had the pleasure of consulting businesses on their brands ranging from startups to regional staples like Bell Bank, Zorbaz, and Otter Tail Power Company. As the senior creative strategist at H2M, Jason oversees both the creative and strategic practices, converging two loves into one role.
During this session, we will explore “in the meantime,” especially as communicators who serve critical roles in crisis. We’ll start with acknowledging pandemic fatigue and the underlying stress. This conversation will lead to a review of how our individual personal preferences and styles function under stress. The final phase of the conversation will be focused on reminders of core components of good communication (what’s the why; bad news first; managing expectations, etc.)
