Dr. Dennis Cooley will provide an overview of ethical issues associated with the use of artificial intelligence and the resulting implications on individuals and society. If used as the tool it is intended to be, AI promises great benefits to humanity. If left to develop without careful oversight, however, it threatens great harm, especially to the most vulnerable.
Dr. Cooley is Professor of Philosophy and Ethics, Director of the Northern Plains Ethics Institute at NDSU, and Director of NDUS’s Dakota Humanities Academy. His teaching and research interests include theoretical and applied ethics with a focus on pragmatism, bioethics, business ethics, personhood, death and dying, and artificial intelligence, including its impact on human autonomy, social cohesion, and quality of life.
This bonus statewide webinar will be recorded and made available in the members area on aboutNDPC.org.
