Winners of the 2017 North Dakota Professional Communicators Communications Contest were recognized at the NDPC annual conference, April 20-21, in Fargo.
Fifteen members of NDPC earned 84 awards for their work in print media, photography, advertising, writing for and development of the web, promotion, public relations, marketing, speeches and books.
First-place entries in all categories have advanced to national competition in the National Federation of Press Women contest. Winners in that competition will be announced at the NFPW annual conference Sept. 7–9, 2017, in Birmingham, Ala.
Pam Knudson, Grand Forks, was the overall NDPC sweepstakes winner, and Linda Sailer, Dickinson, was runner-up. Knudson also was recognized as NDPC's Communicator of Achievement. Sweepstakes winners are determined by a weighted point system based on place (first, second, third or honorable mention) and the number of entries in each category. The more entries in a category, the higher number of points awarded to those placing in the category.
NDPC is the state affiliate of NFPW, an organization of communication professionals from across the United States.
