NDPC 2011 Communications Contest Winners

Winners of the 2011 North Dakota Professional Communicators Communications Contest were recognized at the NDPC state conference April 7-8 at the Canad Inn, Grand Forks, N.D.

Twenty-two members earned 106 awards for their work in print media, photography, advertising, writing for and development of the web, promotion, public relations, marketing, speeches and books.

Karen Stensrud, Fargo, N.D., won first place in the sweepstakes competition. Linda Sailor, Dickinson, N.D., took second; and Cathy Jelsing, Rugby, N.D., third. 

Stensrud is vice president of marketing and communications at State Bank and Trust in Fargo. Sailer is lifestyles editor at The Dickinson Press, and Jelsing owns CJ Communications.

Forty first-place awards will advance to the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) contest. Winners in that competition will be announced at the NFPW annual communications conference, scheduled for Sept. 8-10 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
